Audi S8

It was the year 2001 during which time the Audi S8 was introduced on to the market in the United States of America. The Audi S8 was loosely based on the Mercedez Benz AMG models. While the Audi S8 may have shared the platform of the standard model, it also featured a re-tuned 360 PS version of the standard V8 Configuration, as well as enlarged brakes and a re-tuned suspension with bigger wheels and upgraded tires. Production of the first generation of Audi S8 models ceased in the year 2003, at which point the D3 platform Audi A8 was introduced on to the market.
A new Audi S8 was introduced in the year 2005. This version of the car was powered by a 450 PS V10 Configuration, which was derived from a similar one used in the Lamborghini Gallardo.
The Audi S8 has received mostly positive reviews from the media in the European Union.
The Audi S8 has become a popular vehicle thanks largely to the 1998 film Ronin, which featured Robert De Niro. The dramatic speed of the Audi S8 was used as a major plot element in the movie, which propelled the Audi S8 to the international spotlight.
