Ferrari 612 GTO Concept by Sasha Selipanov

Ferrari 612 GTO Concept by Sasha Selipanov

There are few car makers that evoke more emotion and passion than Ferrari. For decades their cars have captivated hearts and minds of young and old, male and female alike, and form the epitome of what driving at the very highest level is all about. Self proclaimed “Angry Car Designer” Sasha Selipanov has penned what has to be the most beautiful concept Ferrari of the last 30 odd years. No doubt the German designer has the Maranello design studios and the likes of Bertone and Pininfarina going green with envy. As Selipanov is not on the Ferrari pay roll, this isn’t an official concept and will likely never go any further towards production than it currently is – very very far away! As unfortunate as that may be, that doesn’t stop us from appreciating and ogling at the masterpiece he has created.
If you look closely, you will see design cues from cars in the current Ferrari model lineup, such as the headlights – which resemble those on the 458 Italia. There are obvious elements in the mix that take us down memory lane to the 60s Ferrari GTO models that are, to this day, utterly beautiful. The proportions bear resemblance to an Aston Martin and the overall shape seems to mimic an early Corvette with those trademark curvy hips and wide rear girth. The oh-so-sexy rear end has taillights that look a lot like those on the new Camaro and while we liken all of these elements to cars that exist, there is no detraction from its originality and how well the entire package comes together. It’s mean yet gorgeous at the same time, which begs the question; is true beauty in the eye of the beholder or the creator? Maranello, take note and bring us something like this. We dare you!
